DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT
Alex is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer who has been filming documentaries worldwide since 2006. He is responsible for developing and leading content based on the African continent and other international locations for Red Rock Africa.
With a background in biology, Alex specializes in natural history documentaries and long lens work, but also has extensive experience with traditional documentary style and multi-camera production. His credits involve work on films for the BBC, National Geographic, Smithsonian Network and Discovery, capturing everything from exciting interactions between bears and wolves in the Arctic Circle to beautiful slow motion shots of falcons in the Arabian Desert. His passions are finding and telling great stories, and combining that with striking cinematography.
Alex is a creative mind with a deep understanding and love for wildlife, in the few and far between moments where he is not developing or producing within the natural history space, you may find him composing songs and performing acoustic guitar – usually around a campfire.
